Meanings:
This motif illustrates Peresean performance which is usually performed during the commemoration of Proclamation Day, or other major holidays. Peresean is a game that pits strength between players. In this performance, the players are allowed to hit each other by using rattan until the opponent surrenders. Sometimes some kinds of magic are used by both players to win the game, for example, Bau Balung. Bau Balung is a magic that can cause opponents to lose their energy. The Peresean motif is depicted in batik motif as an appreciation made to preserve this special art performance in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
