Meanings:
Kaganga Batik is a typical Batik from Rejang region, Bengkulu. This batik was created around 1985-1990. If Batik Besurek combines Arabic calligraphy motifs, then the Kaganga batik takes the inspiration from the Kaganga letters, the ancient script of Rejang tribe. This fabric also illustrates plant motifs such as clove flowers, Malay Magnolia (Cempaka) flowers, and the rare Rafflesia Arnoldii flowers, which is a typical endemic flower in Rejang land.

Batik production can take 1 month up to 2 years of working time depending on the purposes of the textile creation and the colour complexity. The Batik handwriting textile is generally made with 8 design steps, ranging from wax patterning to colouring process. The artists use Canting, as a tool to put hot melted wax on the cloth.
