Batik Village in West Sumatra

support the local workshop

Brief Story:

Why this batik is given the name of liek? Because “liek” in the Minang language means clay. Yup, that’s right! One of the materials used in this batik is clay. Clay is a type of natural dye, so this kind of soil batik is more popular with brown color, natural nuances but still of high aesthetic value. Other Batik created in Loempo Village, Pesisir Selatan Regency is using bark tree in colouring textiles. The motif produced in this Loempo batik is called Minang motif.  Loempo batik village is close to the tourist attraction of Mandeh Island. So, you can take a walk in the nature while visiting the batik village of Loempo.
