Brief Story:

The Batik of the Riau Islands can be distinguished from its typical sea snail motif named Gonggong, which is an icon of Tanjung Pinang. The motifs reflect the coastal culture of Batam society as well as Malay philosophical values. There are motives of peanut plants, yellow buds, marching clouds, crabs, and bamboo shoots. Gonggong batik is made local producers in Batam City. Due to high demand, some batik textiles are also produced in Pekalongan batik city in Central Java. Even so, the Gonggong Batik is patented and sold in Tanjung Pinang. So when are you going to come here?
