Brief Story:

Other than tourist attractions, Manado city has many beautiful textile galleries that sell a variety of batik products, from scarves and bags, to batik clothes with a variety of models and motifs typical of North Sulawesi Batik.  A local  batik designer named Sizzy Matindas developed the typical batik of North Sulawesi through the concept of Batik storytelling. Every batik motif has its own story, which is taken from the folklore of North Sulawesi. Therefore, to complete one batik motif can take at least one to two months. A designer needs to explore the folklore from local people, before adapting the story into a motif. So, Come to Manado and experience the Batik storytelling!
