Rasamala

The Rasamala Batik motif is associated with a story when the Dutch came to enter the Sunda Kelapa region in the 16th Century. At that time Sunda Kelapa was still like a wild forest covered with Rasamala trees. The Betawi people consider the Rasamala tree to be sacred because it has a fragrant odor.
