On 28 May 2021, iWareBatik was honoured to share its best practice to disseminate the exceptional cultural values of Batik textile heritage through digital technology. Before the Indonesian and Japanese audience, iWareBatik research coordinator Puspita Ayu Permatasari explained the necessity to communicate the safeguarding of the textile, to the multidisciplinary audience, especially young generations. Information Communication Technologies, as demonstrated by iWareBatik website, iWareBatik artificial intelligence app (available on Android and iOs) and Batik Fraktal initiative @batikfractal, help to facilitate collective efforts of national and international stakeholders in supporting the Batik communities.

This isn’t our final call. iWareBatik through “I am AWARE of Batik” campaign will continuously spread the message and the beauty of this magnificent textile heritage.
